We are a new group establishing ourselves in North Wales. The aim of the group is to offer support and share information.
We currently meet bi-monthly.

Summary of recent Events:
We had our last regional meeting on 15/5/08 (5 attended) where we discussed the ASLI Conference and ASLI business to be brought up at the NEC meeting on 14th June. We then had a group session looking at co-working. This will be developed in our next session in September.
Summary of recent significant contacts
One member to make contact with Health Trust re Report written about Mental Health provision for Deaf people in Wales. Sign post them to ASLI for further details as required.

3. Summary of recent Events including attendance:
We had a lovely Christmas meal on 7/12/07, 6 people attended, 4 of which were already
members and 2 who wanted to join ASLI. The New Year has been a good start for the
North Wales group, as we have seen a boost in our numbers as you can see above!

We had to cancel the last meeting due to lack of attendance and the next one is scheduled for 22/11/07. We have arranged a Christmas meal on 7/12/07 and uptake for that seems promising so we are hoping this will continue through 2008!

We have nothing to update you on from North Wales since the last report was submitted.
By the next report we should be able to announce some ASLI Trained & Approved Mentors in our region … so watch this space!!
2007 Dates for North Wales ASLI Meetings:
Dates are booked bi-monthly. The Plough at St Asaph is deemed a satisfactory venue for all travel wise, by current members. This however can be reviewed at any stage – email the Chair with comments.
