SIN was set up in autumn 2005 because it became apparent that ASLI members living in Scotland had no 'voice' within the existing ASLI structure as we did not fit into any of the existing regions or networks.  This new network enables us to share our information directly with the NEC and is already proving to be a useful invention!

There are currently only 4 ASLI members in Scotland, but we are still pretty active, with one of our members, Grace Bannan, now elected onto the Executive Committee of SASLI.

On behalf of ASLI we have also made more formal contact with the new Director at SASLI, Iain Whyte, to discuss a range of issues affecting both organisations and hope to continue this dialogue further.

Our first official SIN meeting has been arranged for 16 March in Edinburgh, and this will also be open to non-ASLI members who are working in the area.
