Two day workshops

These courses have all been developed to support the ASLI Mentoring Programme as approved by members in 2003. For more information on the content of these courses and on the programme itself, please see the links above.

The following workshops are taking place:

Workshop 1

‘Introduction to Mentoring’, covering basic mentoring skills as part of the ASLI programme and developing your personal skills. This course is for anyone who has an interest in mentoring and wants to know more – open to potential mentors and mentees (Deaf or otherwise).

Workshop 2

‘Mentoring Skills’, covering skills needed to become a Mentor of SLIs. This course is for any qualified SLI or any other professional wanting to become a Mentor who has completed Workshop 1 or has relevant accredited prior learning (see web site for more information). At the end of this course you will be ready to start the practical element of the training. Where possible you should be available to attend the next Workshop 3 in your area (i.e. 2 & 3 are part of a training package).

Workshop 3

‘Advanced Mentoring Skills’ - this is a continuation of Workshop 2 covering further in depth training and review of practice so far. At the end of this workshop you will be prepared for completion of the practical work and understand compilation of work needed for assessment. Please note there is an additional assessment fee.
